Boys Noize, the alias of German DJ and producer Alex Ridha, dropped “What You Want” in 2012. Born in Hamburg in 1982, Ridha built his reputation in Berlin. He founded Boysnoize Records and became a major force in electronic music. Known for fusing techno, electro, and house, his work shaped club sounds worldwide. “What You Want” reflects his bold style, pairing distorted beats with sharp rhythms and sampling classics like Public Image Ltd. and D-Train.
The song appeared on his third studio album, Out of the Black. This release followed Oi Oi Oi and Power, both critical in defining his gritty electronic edge. Out of the Black pushed his sound further, mixing heavy beats with futuristic synth textures. “What You Want” sits at the album’s core, balancing raw energy with clever sampling.
