Later albums introduced stronger rhythms and more accessible electronic structures. The 2026 remaster restores CODE for a new generation. Denis Blackham handled the remastering for the reissue. Meanwhile, the project preserves Richard H. Kirk’s original vision. Work began in 2019 with Kirk and continued after his death in 2021. The team used his notes while consulting Stephen Mallinder and Kirk’s estate. Furthermore, the deluxe triple-CD edition adds remastered mixes from the era. It also includes previously unreleased remixes recently discovered in the archive. Thus, the reissue expands CODE while preserving its place in Cabaret Voltaire’s catalog. The album connects their experimental past with the increasingly polished electronic sound of their later work.
The 2026 remaster of “Here To Go” arrives ahead of the new CODE edition. Mute will release the album on October 9, 2026. The reissue appears on vinyl, triple CD, and digital formats. Additionally, collectors can find a limited “CODIFIED” marble vinyl edition. The song remains a strong example of Cabaret Voltaire’s evolving sound during the late 1980s. Its electronic pulse reflects the band’s growing interest in technology and modern control. At the same time, its uneasy atmosphere retains their experimental edge. Consequently, “Here To Go” bridges the band’s underground origins with their commercial breakthrough.
