Today’s video of the day is Jesus on Extasy – "Soul Crusher " released in 2025.

Jesus on Extasy returns in 2025 with a powerful new single, “Soul Crusher.” The track leads their upcoming album Between Despair & Disbelief, due September 12. The band blends industrial rock, dark glam, and cinematic drama into a searing visual and sonic experience. Formed in Germany, Jesus on Extasy emerged in the mid-2000s with a bold fusion of electronic rock and gothic aesthetics. Founding member Dorian Deveraux returns, teaming up with Andy Glen to revive the band’s signature sound. Earlier releases like Holy Beauty and Beloved Enemy set the tone. Now, Between Despair & Disbelief pushes further into darker territory.

“Soul Crusher” sets the mood for the new era. Directed by Charlotte Braun, the video creates a haunting, surreal atmosphere. Shadows loom large, and symbolism dominates every frame. Charlotte Braun not only directs but also edits and produces the piece. Alexander W. Henseler and Julius Mülhoff handle cinematography with bold contrasts and rich textures. The result is a polished, theatrical vision. Sophia Hallerbach and Valentin Winter appear as enigmatic dinner guests, adding a touch of mystery. Esther von Nachtschatten plays a ghostly figure from the past. Makeup, costumes, and set design—coordinated by Valentin Winter and supported by Dae Joon—elevate the visuals with eerie, dreamlike flair.

Dorian Deveraux recorded and produced the track at The Zen Garden in Essen. Tim Schuld mixed and mastered it at 4CN Studios in Bochum. Every element reflects precision and emotion. “Soul Crusher” captures the despair, disillusionment, and introspection that define Between Despair & Disbelief. Yet it also connects with earlier themes of inner conflict and spiritual decay explored in previous albums. This continuity gives long-time fans a familiar thread while introducing a bold new sound for 2025.
