Soft Vein is the darkwave solo project of California-based artist Justin Chamberlain. He launched the project in 2022 with the single “GIVEUPTHEGHOST.” That debut blended haunting melodies with brooding synths. It was self-produced and mixed by Ewan Kay of KONTRAVOID. Since then, Soft Vein has developed a sound that fuses industrial, electronic, and darkwave influences.
Themes of longing, obsession, and human vulnerability shape the music. The debut album Pressed in Glass, released in October 2023, introduced this emotional intensity. It offered a sharp yet romantic view of darkness and desire. Now, Through Blinds expands on that vision. It dives deeper into isolation and intimacy, with “Gray Space” at its emotional core.
