Today’s video of the day is the God Bullies – “Nice Place to Visit” released in 2024.

God Bullies return with a new video for Nice Place to Visit, a track from their 2024 album As Above, So Below. This marks their first full-length release in 30 years. Known for their dark, menacing sound, the band blends noise rock, punk, and heavy grooves. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, God Bullies made a name for themselves in the ’90s underground scene. They released albums on Amphetamine Reptile Records and Alternative Tentacles, two of the era’s most influential heavy music labels. Their intense live shows and unrelenting sound attracted a dedicated following.

Now, with original frontman “Father” Mike Hard leading the charge, the band is back. Guitarist Scott Kodrik, bassist Pat O’Harris, and drummer Cliff Carinci complete the lineup. They recorded As Above, So Below at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago. Producer Sanford Parker, known for his work with YOB and Tombs, helped shape the album’s powerful sound. Nice Place to Visit captures the band’s signature intensity. The video, directed by Scott Kodrik, enhances the song’s eerie atmosphere. Cinematographers Julian Mackiewicz and Ian O’Harris bring a raw, unsettling visual style. Ian O’Harris also handled the editing. Filming took place at locations owned by Kodrik and Hard, adding a personal touch.

The new album stays true to the band’s original spirit while pushing their sound forward. Fans of their classic records like War on Everybody and Dog Show will recognize the unfiltered aggression. At the same time, As Above, So Below introduces new sonic textures. The album reflects years of experience, but the energy remains raw. With Nice Place to Visit, God Bullies prove they haven’t lost their edge. The song and video set the stage for a powerful return.
