Today’s video of the day is the Combichrist – “Rise” released in 2025.
Released on August 28, 2025, “Rise” marked another forceful return for Combichrist. The Norwegian-American industrial project released the single through Out Of Line Music. It followed the band’s Still Making Monsters Tour. Furthermore, Andy LaPlegua built the track around rebellion and self-liberation. He wanted the song to motivate listeners to reject expectations and reclaim their own path. The official video reinforces that urgent message with aggressive visuals and a confrontational atmosphere.
LaPlegua founded Combichrist in 2003 after establishing himself with Icon of Coil. The project quickly became a major force in aggrotech and electro-industrial music. Early releases such as Everybody Hates You and What the Fuck Is Wrong With You People? helped define its hard electronic sound. Later, Making Monsters, No Redemption, We Love You, One Fire, and CMBCRST expanded the project into industrial metal. Although Combichrist uses a full lineup onstage, LaPlegua handles the studio work. Out Of Line also identifies Combichrist as LaPlegua’s studio project with rotating live musicians.
Importantly, “Rise” is not part of a 2025 studio album. It arrived as a two-track single alongside “Desolation.” However, the song later became part of the buildup toward The Venom In The Mouth Of God. That album followed the 2025 singles “Desolation,” “Rise,” and “Feraline.” Therefore, “Rise” connects Combichrist’s established aggression with a renewed focus on its electronic roots. It also continues the project’s evolution from underground aggrotech toward a broader industrial metal sound.
