Today’s video of the day is Ministry – "No W" released in 2004.

Ministry’s “No W” video delivers a fierce political punch with sharp satire and grinding industrial metal. Released in 2004, the track comes from the band’s album Houses of the Molé. It marked the return of Ministry’s aggressive, anti-establishment sound after a brief hiatus. Formed in 1981 by Al Jourgensen, Ministry began as a synth-pop act. However, they quickly evolved into pioneers of industrial metal. Albums like The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste and Psalm 69 defined their intense sound and political themes. “No W” continues that legacy.

This track draws direct comparison to 1992’s “N.W.O.” from Psalm 69. Both songs open their respective albums. Both target U.S. presidential policies. While “N.W.O.” critiqued George H. W. Bush, “No W” goes after George W. Bush. Jourgensen’s rage feels just as fresh and fierce. The video amplifies the song’s message. A dancer in a George W. Bush mask performs erratic moves. Behind him, Ministry plays in desert garb as a chorus chants “O Fortuna” from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. The setting is absurd, yet visually arresting.

Later editions of Houses of the Molé feature a “Redux” version. This version removes the classical samples but adds a guitar solo. It appears in the video games Need for Speed: Underground 2 and Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, broadening its reach to a younger audience. “No W” helped define Ministry’s Bush-era trilogy, followed by Rio Grande Blood and The Last Sucker. These albums form a scathing narrative of political dissent. Each record sharpened the band’s fury and sonic attack. With “No W,” Ministry reminded fans of their roots. They pushed back hard against war, media, and political hypocrisy. The video matches the intensity with imagery that sticks. Both funny and furious, it remains one of the band’s most iconic statements.
