Today’s video of the day is Ministry – "I’ll Do Anything For You" (Squirrely Version) released in 2025.
Al Jourgensen is back, and he’s having fun. In the new video for “I’ll Do Anything For You” (Squirrely Version), he wears pigtails, heart-shaped sunglasses, and a shirt that reads “I’m Adorable.” Yes, really. Directed by Vicente Cordero and Ben Garcia, this is the first-ever video for the synth pop track. Originally released in 1983, the song now gets a quirky, glam reboot. The new version appears on The Squirrely Years Revisited, out now on Cleopatra Records.
Ministry began in the early ’80s as a synth pop band. Their early sound was electronic and melodic. Over time, they shifted into heavy industrial metal. Albums like The Land of Rape and Honey and Psalm 69 defined their harder edge. But The Squirrely Years Revisited brings the past full circle. It features reimagined versions of Ministry’s early songs. Tracks include “Work For Love,” “Everyday Is Halloween,” “I’m Not an Effigy,” and more. The album includes nine main tracks, plus three bonus tracks on CD.
The video and album mark a rare moment. Jourgensen has long avoided these early songs. Now, he embraces them with a wink and a smirk. The visuals are playful, surreal, and self-aware. The new tour, The Squirrely Years Tour, wraps up June 5. It has featured Al Jourgensen, John Bechdel, Monte Pittman, Cesar Soto, Pepe Clarke Magaña, Paul D’Amour, and two Squirrelette singers. The shows mix nostalgia with energy, and fans love it.
This album follows 2024’s Hopiumforthemasses, Ministry’s 16th studio release. Next up is their final studio album in 2026, with Paul Barker returning. “I’ll Do Anything For You” now stands as a symbol. It links the band’s synth-pop origins to its industrial future. The Squirrely Years Revisited lets fans hear how it all began—with a modern twist.
