Today’s video of the day is SINE – "Trauma Bondage" released in 2024.
Austin-based electro-rock project SINE returned in 2024 with “Trauma Bondage.” The single arrived on September 27 via Metropolis Records. SINE is the solo project of Rona Rougeheart. She is a New York–born drummer and multi-instrumentalist. Over time, SINE has built a reputation for blending rock muscle with electronic tension. Therefore, the project fits naturally within the modern industrial underground. The track features Curse Mackey of Pigface and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. It was co-written and co-produced with AwareNess. In addition, Jürgen Engler of Die Krupps handled mastering, adding classic industrial weight.
“Trauma Bondage” is a standalone single. It does not appear on a full-length album yet. Instead, it continues the sonic path set by earlier SINE releases. Those tracks favored sharp beats, distorted synths, and emotional urgency. Here, that approach feels more focused and aggressive. The sound leans into what SINE calls “electronic boom.” Industrial noise collides with sub-bass and sleek synth lines. As a result, the song feels physical and cinematic. It also expands the project’s darker tone compared to previous material.
Lyrically, the song explores obsessive emotional bonds. The narrator fixates on a “new obsession.” The connection feels intimate but painful. Imagery compares the bond to shards of glass. That detail suggests closeness and damage at once. Meanwhile, the push and pull of control drives the tension. The desire to be adored clashes with the urge to be destroyed. The video reflects this mood through stark visuals and noir-inspired style. Together, sound and image reinforce SINE’s evolving identity. Ultimately, “Trauma Bondage” stands as a sharp statement within the project’s growing catalog.
