Released on May 15, 2026, the track arrived through Metropolis Records. It also marks an important new chapter for the Belgian band. Carla Harvey provides the lead vocals after joining Lords of Acid in January 2025. Previously, Harvey performed with metal band Butcher Babies. Therefore, her arrival brings a striking new voice to the group’s electronic world. Founding members Praga Khan and Oliver Adams wrote and produced the track with vocal producer Marc Jordan. As a result, “Dream Boy” connects Lords of Acid’s classic attitude with a modern club sound.
Lords of Acid formed in Belgium in 1988 and quickly developed a reputation for combining techno, industrial, acid house, and provocative themes. Their breakthrough came with the 1991 album Lust. The record established their bold identity and helped them build a strong international following. Later albums expanded their electronic palette while keeping their distinctive edge. Albums such as Voodoo-U, Our Little Secret, Farstucker, Pretty in Kink, and The Most Wonderful Girl continued that evolution. Now, “Dream Boy” serves as the second single from the band’s upcoming seventh studio album. Consequently, the song looks both backward and forward. It retains the playful, sensual energy that defines Lords of Acid while introducing Harvey as a new creative force.
Directed by Vincent Cordero, the “Dream Boy” video adds another layer to the track’s retro-modern character. Cordero filmed the performance at the Bizarre Bar in Las Vegas. Moreover, the production combines polished 4K footage with raw 1990s VHS camcorder images. This contrast creates a visual bridge between Lords of Acid’s past and present. Harvey’s performance sits at the center of the concept. Meanwhile, the rough VHS textures recall the underground aesthetic that surrounded the band during its early years. At the same time, the sharp digital footage gives the video a contemporary finish.
