Today’s video of the day is The Linda Lindas- “Oh!” released in 2021.

The Linda Lindas’ song Oh! delivers a burst of punk rock energy. Released on July 21, 2021, by Epitaph Records, it became a standout single. The track opens their debut album, Growing Up, which came out in 2022. Written by band members Bela Salazar, Eloise Wong, and sisters Lucia and Mila de la Garza, the song was produced by Carlos de la Garza. The Oh! music video, directed by Ryan Baxley, features skateboarder Ray Barbee. In the video, he snaps Polaroid photos of the band, capturing their vibrant personalities. This playful concept matches the youthful energy of the song. The punk rock sound draws comparisons to the Go-Go’s, Joan Jett, and the Ramones.

The Linda Lindas made waves before the release of Oh! In May 2021, their performance of “Racist, Sexist Boy” at the Los Angeles Public Library went viral. This exposure led to their signing with Epitaph Records, though the partnership had been in the works for months.

When Oh! debuted, it was also featured in the Netflix series The Chair trailer, expanding its reach. Later, the band performed the song live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. At just 11 years old, Mila de la Garza became the youngest musician to perform on the show. Oh! sets the tone for Growing Up, an album that showcases The Linda Lindas’ raw talent and youthful rebellion. Each song on the album carries themes of identity, resilience, and joy. Together, the tracks blend seamlessly into a punk anthem for the next generation.
